Internet companies have lost their glamour and are now being targeted as get-rich-quick ventures that fold as quickly as they spring up. But one company near Emsworth is bucking the trend and fighting the dotcom backlash
Pianoshop a website dedicated to all things piano and is growing fast - latest figures show 91,000 potential customers visited the site in a month.
Managing director Craig Greenhouse set up the site last year after coming up with the idea four years ago. And he is sure www.pianoshop.co.uk will not be a here today gone tomorrow website business.
The former piano tuner and software engineer said "The reason I set up the site in the first place was my love of pianos. I wanted to set up a site where [people could learn anything they wanted to know about pianos, that was my raison d'etre".
The firm had just one member of staff, but growth has meant that it now has three part time and three full time employees. More people are expected to be taken on in the near future.
The clearest sign of the company's growth is the company's plans to re launch next month as Pianoshop
Mr Greenhouse said "We will be going for more of a community website feel and making the jump to a world class site."
The company, based at The Old Dairy Workshops in Whitechimney Row, Westbourne, is also planning to create more music related sites in the coming months.
They will be companies in their own right under the umbrella of Pianoshop.
